13. San Miguel de Allende
San Miguel de Allende is a very popular tourist destination which is far from all the gang wars and drug-related violence. This town is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008, so there is definitely plenty of interesting things to see. The town features old cathedrals, botanic gardens, handicraft shops, etc. The lowest price we found is $52 per one night.
