Math majors conduct research to develop and understand mathematical principles. They also analyze data and apply mathematical techniques in order to help solve real-world problems. They usually work in the federal government or in private science and engineering research companies, in teams with scientists, engineers, and other professionals. While there are positions open for those with a bachelor’s degree, it usually behooves Math majors to obtain Masters as well.
