Southern states in India generally invest a lot in education and this state is no exception with a high number of postgraduates and PhDs per million. This has helped the state attract many multinational companies which have set up their base here. It is home to some of the biggest names in the IT industry. Its capital Hyderabad is sometimes referred to as Cyberabad due to a high number of IT companies.
