10. Xinfengjiang Reservoir – China
According to The Nature Conservancy’s website, the Xinfengjiang Reservoir has a surface area of 370 km2.
It was built in the 1960s on the river Xinfeng Jiang, near the city of Heyuan in the Guangdong Province, South-East of China. The Reservoir is also part of a National Forest Park where, according to this Chinese source, the landscapes are picturesque and the water, pristine.
