Some of the oldest gay bars were opened in Seattle during 1920s and 1930s. Capitol Hill became Seattle’s LGBT neighborhood during the fifties and sixties, as well as a fine art center with Seattle Art Museum and Art Institute opened in that period. Since 1974 there is Gay Pride Week in Seattle, one of the gayest cities in America.
