4. Painter
Another option that retired firefighters can consider is becoming a painter. Usually, previous experience is not obligatory for most trade occupations, but you should be familiar with the basics at least to consider this position. There are plenty of painting jobs available, but you can also be an independent painter if that is what you prefer. The average hourly pay rate for a painter is $16.26.
