Despite all the legends surrounding the beauty of Japanese women, the land of geishas has scored rather low among Asian countries with the most beautiful women. Whether is it because traditionally introvert Japanese society doesn’t really approve of beauty pageants or judges don’t get Japanese beauty remains open for debate, but the bottom line Japans only has three titles, two at Miss Universe ( Akiko Kojima won in 1959 and Riyo Mori won in 2007) and one at Miss International, with Ikumi Yoshimatsu winning in 2012.
