India has 11 titles, two at Miss Universe (Sushmita Sen in1 994 and Lara Dutta in 2000), three at Miss Asia Pacific International ( in 1970 by Zeenat Aman, in 1973 by Tara Anne Fonseca, and in 2000 by Diya Mirza Handrich), three Miss World titles (in 1997 by Diana Hayden, in 1999 by Yukta Mookhey, and in 2000 by Priyanka Chopra), and one Miss Earth, won by Nicole Faria in 2010. The year 2000 was especially successful for Indian beauties, sine three girls won titles in three different contests.
