8. Plantains
Plantain or sometimes called ‘cooking banana’ ranks 8th on our list of most popular, best selling fruits in the world. It is a very close relative to banana we usually use in our kitchens. The main difference is that we consume a plantain after it is being cooked. Even though both banana and plantain are rich in potassium, which helps your immune system and regulates your indigestion, plantain is more beneficial than banana when it comes to dieting and reducing fat. The only issue with plantain is that a very small percentage is used in trade, it is mostly domestically consumed in the countries where it’s grown.
