Russia tops our list of the most hated countries in Europe. It is also among the top three most hated countries in the world, according to our own list. The country is viewed as an opponent of the United States. It is also vocally opposed to the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Recently, the country has faced much more hatred because of its relentless and imperialist invasion of Ukraine.
In addition, Russia is one of the worst for press freedom. According to the Press Freedom Index of 2023, compiled by Reporters Without Borders, the country ranks 164 out of 180. The country is also infamous for imposing censorship, especially during its invasion of Ukraine.
