7. Group B Strep Awareness Month
July
Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is a “normal bacterium which is carried by 20-30% of adults, most commonly in the gut, and for up to 25% of women, in the vagina, usually without symptoms or side-effects.” It is important to know that this is not a sexually transmitted disease. Since this disease is most commonly present in newborn babies, GBSS campaign has many different offers on how you can contribute and help. It’s all about information and prevention.
