10. Antigua, Guatemala
In Guatemala you don’t have to wait for Christmas morning to open your presents — you can do it at midnight! As soon as the Christmas Eve is over, you can see if you’ve been a good boy or girl. Jokes aside, Antigua, which ranks 10th on our list of best places to visit in Central and South America in December, is the best-preserved Spanish colonial city in Central America with a lovely view of the surrounding volcanoes.
