2. East New York

Number of crimes: 7 096

East New York is residential part of the Brooklyn neighborhood. In the late ‘90s, many African Americans and Latinos have inhabited the area. So, the population rose, and now it counts around 96,000 inhabitants. From 2008 until 2010, there was immense 94% of an increase in murders. Now, that number decreased, but East New York is still under the unsafe areas in this part of the city.
