2. Pakistan

Dropping 3 spots from last year’s ranking, Pakistan managed to score 0.559 in the Gender Gap Index. First and foremost, women only earn about a sixth from what men do, which makes it impossible to obtain any sort of independence. Furthermore, only 3 percent of the country’s legislators, senior officials and managers are women. At the same time, 21 percent of the parliament seats are occupied by women, but none can be found in the country’s ministries.
