Which states consume the most ice cream per capita in America? Summer is almost over, even for the states that consume the most ice cream, but this doesn’t necessarily mean people stop doing stuff that is usually related to the hottest time of the year. Like for example going to the pool, taking a walk down the beach, or eating ice cream. If you have a sweet tooth and often crave this frosty treat, you probably don’t care about things like temperature, and this applies for everyone in the world. In fact, here’s a list with the 11 Countries That Consume the Most Ice Cream. According to this list, the US is ranked in the second place, but, what if we took it a little further?
Looking for the ten states that consume the most ice cream, we searched the entire internet and we couldn’t find any concrete results. We went through blog posts of a couple of ice cream makers and they both agreed on the #1 state that consumes the most ice cream per capita. I bet you won’t get it right even if you guess 10 times. The rest of the list is based on a study by Bundle which was acquired by Capital One (which is why the study isn’t directly available on their site). It lists 10 states that consume the most ice cream. We ranked these 10 states by population (smaller states are more likely to consume more ice cream per resident). Based on our calculations here are the 11 states that consume the most ice cream per capita in the United States:
11 Texas
To start off the list with the state that consumes the least, we’ve got Texas, where you can find Amy’s Ice Creams, which offers over 300 odd and unique flavors of ice cream and fruit ices.
10 Massachusetts
This is the state in which students of the MIT went as far as making 3D- printed ice cream, that’s how much they love it.
9 Wisconsin
Wisconsin is actually the place where sundae was first served, back in 1881. Surprisingly, at the time, the product was only offered on Sundays.
8 Connecticut
Connecticut is becoming one of the most sought destinations by ice cream lovers thanks to a trail map available, with a total of 35 places you can visit and check out what they have to offer.
7 Utah
This state is not only happier thanks to ice cream consumption, it’s also safer. An ice cream shop partnered with the Utah Highway Patrol for a day to help recognize high school students for wearing a seatbelt, by giving them free samples.
6 Kansas
Over the years some crazy flavours have been developed in the dairy industry, in this particular state you can find one of the craziest: Pineapple Cilantro Sorbet.

Halfway down the race in our search for the states that consume the most ice cream, we have New Hampshire, another region that has created an ice cream trail and you can check out the “39 fresh and local lip smacking must visit stands” in the area.

Almost at the end of the list we’ve got Delaware, where thanks to their on farm creameries, some of the tastiest ice cream is produced. According to the readers on this website, the best place to get these frozen delicacies, is Woodside Farm Creamery, where apparently you can decide how big you want your scoop to be!

In second place, we have the state where the first soft-serve ice cream machine in the world was located!
