The World Genius Directory -a comprehensive database created by Dr. Jason Betts- compiled the list of the most intelligent people every year. While the average person has an IQ ranging between 85 and 114, all of the people in our top have obtained a score of 180 or more.
By the way, don’t feel bad if you aren’t one of the smartest people in the world. A study by Jay Zagorsky, a research scientist at Ohio State University’s Center for Human Resource Research found no relationship between IQ and wealth. There are other studies that found that smartest people like Mensa members (the top 2% of the society) earns $6000 to $18000 more than people with average intelligence (an IQ of 100). This probably means that the smartest people in the world aren’t inclined to save as much as regular people. Not a smart decision! “Intelligence is not a factor for explaining wealth. Those with low intelligence should not believe they are handicapped, and those with high intelligence should not believe they have an advantage,” says Zagorsky.
