Greece is a country in Europe located in the south of Balkan Peninsula, with mainland and 4000 islands (around 200 inhabited) in the Ionian and Aegean Sea. Ancient cradle of the Western world, Greece is a country with huge history. Famous philosophers, mathematicians, poets, great army leaders and many other important persons in modern history were Greeks. 11. Mount Athos, Khalkidhiki

10. Samaria Gorge, Crete

One of the popular natural attractions in Greece, Samaria Gorge is a 10 miles long canyon in southwest Crete. There are walking tours organized that will take you through this natural wonder, where you’ll admire pine and cypress trees, and lovely greenery decorated with beautiful unique flowers (some of the flowers are protected by law).

9. Melissani Cave, Kefalonia

Big cave in the east coast of Kefalonia has a lake inside and trees surrounding it; this marvelous natural wonder allures visitors from around the world. When the sun strikes in the noon, this place fills up with amazing blue light, creating a stunning experience for visitors. An interesting fact about Melissani cave – at least hundred photos of its inside are taken each day during the summer season.

8. Delphi Theatre

7. Meteora, Kalambaka

Not every attractive destination in Greece is by the sea. Meteora is the best example; six monasteries are built in lake area near Kalambaka town, on huge rock pillars. Climbing up to visit the monasteries is not an easy task, and the reward is worth climbing the steep rocks. This religious and picturesque place is a symbol of purity, faith, and religion, where you’ll be safe from pickpocketing, and inspired by the stunning surrounding and sight from the top.

6. The Pelion

The region of Pelion is a nature’s beauty at its finest. The vast mountain, beautiful sandy and stone beaches, crystal blue waters; this stunning landscape is attraction not to be missed in Greece. The largest town is Volos, with a busy port and small airport. Pelion is the place where Greeks go to on holidays – not many tourists here, which is an advantage.

Earning place on our list is obvious; astounding beach resorts, romantic Old Town, and scenic villages are more than enough reasons to visit this Greek island. 4. Island of ÝDHRA (Hydra)

Here’s the good and interesting one: This island forbids any type of traffic, even bicycles. Now we’re talking safety. Narrow stone streets combining in every direction take you exploring the main town (which is a national monument), small boat will take you on a tour ride exploring the beautiful surroundings, and lovely beaches will relax you.

3. Navagio beach, Zakynthos

A small island in Ionian Sea, Zakynthos is famous for its living nightlife, Caretta-Caretta turtles and this staggering beach. Navagio beach is called Shipwreck beach for a big reason. In 1983. smugglers were operating in this waters, trying to transport a lot of cigarettes. 2. Santorini

Built on a volcanic island, Santorini became ultra-popular in last few years because of its characteristic white and blue buildings, staggering views from the mountains, and beautiful Aegean Sea. Cycladic architecture painted with excessive white and light blue resonates with colors of the sea and reflects the sunlight, making the Santorini even more beautiful.
