With its spending nearly a third of its total GSP, West Virginia tops the list of the most socialist states in America right now. It is no surprise that the Socialist Party of America maintained a strong presence in the state as well, having been established in 1910. However, socialism is no longer as much of a mainstay in the state as it used to be.
