11. Medical Waste Disposal
Hospitals need to find the best way to get rid of the medical waste this means they need to be careful not to harm other people and the environment as well. Under the term medical disposal, we mean sharp objects like needles, razors, ampules, infectious waste, blood products, gloves, hazardous meds, partial doses, pills, antibiotics, and radioactive waste. There are five ways one person can dispose the medical waste and they are incineration, thermal/autoclaving, non-incineration irradiative/microwave, systems chemical and biological/enzymes. The medical waste disposal business is very important. In 2012, the U.S. spent $2.5 billion for the proper medical disposal and this year, in 2017, the amount it is expected to be $3.2 billion.
