7. Austria

Similar to Ireland, a need for workers has spurred immigration to Austria in the second half of the 20th century. According to some sources, there are some 350,000 ethnic Turks living in the country, although many of them are born in Austria and aren’t included in our statistics. Austria has also been one of the favorite destination for people fleeing the Balkan madness in the 1990s.
