8. Genetic Counselor

To become a genetic counselor, you must obtain a master’s degree. Your job is to help families and to make them aware of potential risks of syndromes and disorders that may be genetically passed to children. You counsel and educate patients in order to determine the best treatments. Depending on the state, you may also need to be certified by passing an exam if you want to start working as a genetic counselor.
