The youngest green airport and the 8th largest airport in the world is the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Indian Green Building council awarded the airport a LEED New Construction Golden certification. The construction of the world-class airport of Indira Gandhi only used recycled materials. The site contributes to Mother Earth’s health by using the natural light in the daytime. They also use energy-efficient LCD screens and a water recycling system.
