3. Natural insect repellent

Some insects are very dangerous to human health. Some of these are mosquitos or ticks, and they can transmit some nasty diseases such as malaria or Lyme disease. In order to repel and destroy them lots of chemicals are used which, as well as chemical pesticides impact a lot on our environment. By finding out which those natural repellents could be, you could contribute both human health and environment conservation, so it sounds like a good and easy award winning science fair projects for 9th grade, doesn’t it?
