For those of you who consider themselves daring and up for a challenge, we bring 11 craziest records registered in the Guinness Book you could try to break.
The idea for Guinness Book of World Records came to Hugh Beaver, the managing director of the Guinness Breweries when he got into an argument with his friend about Europe’s fastest game bird. He thought that there are others who are in doubt over similar questions, and decided to create a book that would contain the answers. The first Guinness Book of World Records came out in 1955 and instantly became a hit.
During the years, the categories of records in the book expanded, and among the usual ones, the book contains some that you would never think of. If it can be measured, it is in the Guinness Book of World Records. Just to give you a general idea, the book contains a record, held by Coco Chanel, about the first perfume launched by a couturier. You can also check if her perfume is among 6 most popular perfumes of all time.
As you can see from our example the Guinness Book of World Records doesn’t contain just the competitions, but the facts as well like how many pounds was in the heaviest tumor in the world, or which river is the shortest one. These are all interesting records, but we are dedicated to finding out the truly crazy ones. To see which of the records are craziest records registered in the Guinness Book, we checked out the online edition of the book, and went for the category of Extra Ordinary Records described as “the very best unusual records of dexterity and daring”, knowing we found what we looked for. From all those records, we picked 11 craziest, in our opinion, for both your and our pleasure. Enjoy this crazy list that will make you laugh and think.
