11 Countries With The Highest Rates of Malaria in The World

Unfortunately, our world does not give a pretty picture when we talk about 11 countries with the highest rates of Malaria in the World but it is better to face the reality rather than to avoid it.

One of the major problems faced by the world today is Malaria. The disease has affected a large number of people in the past and it still remains one of the biggest threats to life. According to many authentic reports, about half of the countries around the world are affected by Malaria.

Africa is probably the most affected region by the disease and is also known as “the heartland of Malaria”. Whereas, countries outside Africa are putting serious efforts in eliminating the disease. The results are pretty evident; the scale has gone down a great deal and who knows we might one day see some of the names mentioned in this list amongst the most healthiest countries in the world.

The sad part is, almost 85 percent of the deaths recorded due to Malaria are of kids under five. The disease is highly contagious. It can very easily spread from one person to another, for example, If somebody has Malaria already and a mosquito bites him, the mosquito gets Malaria, and then it can transfer the disease to another person. But you must be thinking, how exactly? Well, the parasites that these mosquitos carry transfers to the liver when the mosquito bites you.  They stay there until they mature and then come out of the liver and mix in the bloodstream, infecting red blood cells. This is when you will be diagnosed with Malaria.

There are a large number of people who are dying just because of this disease; millions of people get sick every day. NGOs and private organizations have taken some initiative to eradicate the disease completely. There are a number of campaigns, focusing particularly on the African region (an area which is most affected by this killer disease), to avoid more casualties.

We gathered data from different countries of the world and came up with the list of 11 countries with the highest rates of Malaria. Let us dive straight in and find out why these countries are in the top 11.
