9. Nemanja Vidić
Serbian rock is the only active player on this list, but his career seems to be going in the wrong direction and ultimately to a closing stage. Needless to say, he is also the youngest player on the list, being born on October 21, 1981. He is best known for his 8-year spell in Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson where he has earned the skipper’s armband thanks to his stalwart defending skills and exceptional commitment in every game. That’s where he has won 5 Premier League titles and UEFA Champions League during the 2007/08 campaign. He is currently playing for Internazionale Milan and these might be his last seasons in top flight clubs and leagues.
