5. Dental hygienists

Median Pay – $71,520

Being a dental hygienist is not exactly the same as being a dentist, but is close enough. They clean teeth, check out patients for various oral diseases and provide preventive dental care while also taking the time to educate properly people on how to correctly clean their teeth. To get this job you need an associate’s degree in dental hygiene which takes about three years to complete, and then you need to get licensed.

But the pay is quite good, racking up to over $71,000 per year and there were over 200,000 jobs in 2014. The job outlook also stood at 19 percent, which means there’s plenty of room for new people in the field.
