Thanks to overfishing and growing pollution, coral reefs are slowly disappearing. It is estimated that around 1/5 of all coral reefs on Earth already vanished. If the trend continues, the rest of them will be gone by 2050. Artist Jason deCaire Taylor is trying to lower those odds by creating underwater statues that will become artificial coral reefs one day. They are beautiful pieces of art, but also a statement.
