Sometimes we don’t always have time to sit down and watch a full comedy special on Netflix, especially during morning or evening commutes, which is why this list of the 11 best comedy podcasts on iTunes is a great guide for entertainment.
Podcasts are the new radio except radio was never really that cool and podcasts are actually pretty cool. I like listening to them on the train because it makes me feel like I have friends going to work with me at 7 a.m. when actually it’s just my pals Karen and Georgia from My Favorite Murder. Most of my political news comes from Chapo Trap House, which is so funny and they’re probably the only men who are genuinely entertaining. Podcasts that are serious and sound like NPR or a weird AM radio show freak me out and I’m not interested. I only want a comedic approach so it sounds more like a group of friends having a chat than a college lecture. I finished college. I don’t want to do it again, especially not when I’m trying to relax.
There are a lot of different types of podcasts and you’re always sure to be able to find one that fits your niche. I even used to listen to one called Gilmore Guys where they watched episodes of Gilmore Girls and discussed them. There’s a little something for everyone. Some podcasters even make money and have turned it into a full-time job.
