China’s army is huge and when we say huge, we mean that it has over 2.3 million people on active duty and just as many on reserve. Furthermore, it has over 1.3 billion people in the country, which means it can call in a huge number of people if need be.
China has over 9,000 tanks and close to 4.800 armored fighting vehicles. There are also over 2,800 aircraft available, out of which over 1,000 are fighter jets. They’re also working on fifth generation fighter jets that would match those the US has had for a while now. The Chinese navy has 67 submarines at its disposal, 47 frigates and 25 destroyers.
The country’s defense budget stood at $145 billion this year.
