10. Warsaw
A 2020 survey ranked Warsaw 25 on the list of rudest countries. The city scored 5.4% on the rudeness scale due to its locals acting unfriendly and unpleasant.
9. Philadelphia
According to a 2022 survey, Philadelphia has topped the list of the rudest cities in the US, despite its nickname, the City of Brotherly Love. Foreign travelers have revealed that locals are often reluctant to welcome outsiders in their city and tend to not engage in conversations with tourists.
8. Budapest
In a global survey conducted in 2020, Budapest was ranked among the top three least friendly cities in Europe 2020. Around 17% of the respondents rated Budapest’s locals to be rude. Vienna and Amsterdam also ranked higher on the list.
7. London
London ranks sixth on the list of the rudest cities in the UK in 2023, with a rating of 5.54. The study considered various rude behaviors of the locals, such as making noise in public, not acknowledging strangers, and constantly spending time on their phones.
6. Milan
In 2019, Milan was ranked seventh on the list of worst cities for traffic jams. Consequently, its reputation took a further hit when in 2022 when it was deemed one of the worst cities for foreigners to live in.

In 2020, Moscow was ranked among the rudest cities in the world. Travelers are often encouraged to visit in groups, ensuring they have company due to the unfamiliar standards and lifestyle of the locals. This cultural divide has contributed to the perception of residents being unfriendly.
4. Beijing
In 2022, Beijing was ranked 11th out of the 25 rudest cities in the world. The city’s overcrowded nature, which contributes to its hectic atmosphere, played a major role in this ranking. Beijing’s pollution issues further tarnished its image.
3. New York City
A study in 2022 ranked the residents of New York City to be the rudest bunch, with the city ranking on top among the 50 largest cities in the States. 34% of the survey respondents deemed the City that Never Sleeps as one of the rudest they have been to.
2. Buenos Aires
Many travelers feel uneasy in Buenos Aires, mainly due to the poor infrastructure and high crime rates of the city. In a study conducted in 2022 to find the least friendly cities in the world, Buenos Aires ranked 25th.
