3. Multi-planetary Life

We are continuing our list of real world problems that can be solved with technology with the problem number three – with risks to humanity’s very existence present on Earth in the form of climate change and the paucity of natural resources like water, scientists have been exploring the possibility of exporting human life to Mars and other regions of the universe, with the goal being to ensure that a disaster doesn’t wipe out all human life in one fell swoop. The chance to replicate Earth on Mars, could be the possible outcome of various technological advancements in the field. Elon Musk’s company SpaceX is working towards achieving the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets. The company is devising an interplanetary transport system to enable commuting between planets. Mars is the preferred choice because of its similarity and proximity to Earth. The Mars One Project was also launched in 2012 to consider similar possibilities. If such a thing happens it will be a huge achievement not only for the scientific community but also the entire world.
