Not only is this the most expensive Hermes product in this year, but it is also the most expensive handbag ever sold at an auction. Christie’s found a buyer for this beauty. It is handmade from Niloticus crocodile with over 240 diamonds on 18-karat-gold hardware. The previous bag that held the record was also a Himalaya Birkin, sold in 2016 for a little more than $300,000. No wonder these bags are considered as one of the most lucrative investments a person can make. One can argue whether a leather handbag is worth this much, even a diamond decorated one, but the facts are indisputable, and figures speak for themselves. Despite the PETA‘s appeals and even Jane Birkin’s doubts,  Birkin bags are continued to be produced and will be breaking their own records for the times to come.
