And we’re finally at the top of our list of most barbaric countries in the world – Guinea, a nation on the west coast of Africa, home to over 11 million people.
96% of girls living in this country have been forced to go through genital mutilation, making it the country with the second highest rate. According to UNICEF, 19% of girls and women think this type of procedures should stop taking place, while 42% of boys and men share this opinion. Unfortunately, however, they continue to take place.
Guinea is also the fifth ranking country for child marriages, 21% of girls being married off before they even turn 15, the number growing to 52% for girls younger than 18. Poverty and lack of access to education seem to be the major reasons behind these practices.
That being said, there are many things that should be done to put a stop to this type of actions in these 10 most barbaric countries in the world.
