10. Most Annoying Song in the World
Although calling it “The most annoying song in the world” is overselling it, it definitely deserves its place in the 10 most annoying YouTube videos ever list.
It consists of an irritating remix of already aggravating song “You’re Beautiful”, by James Blunt, and although the video consists of just a smiley face turning sad, it perfectly depicts the feeling. The whole thing was uploaded in September 2007, so in less than a year it’ll be turning 10, but here’s the funny thing: this bag of shenanigans actually predicted what music would sound like today!
I am not kidding; this wavy, loopy, glitchy, sampled sound would be later on be recognized as its own musical gender: Vaporwave. Have you ever heard of Macintosh Plus? If you have, you know what I’m talking about. It just seems so funny to me how what was considered unbearable to listen to ten years ago, people will voluntarily play in their homes nowadays. Humans are hilarious.
