Cape Verde may be among the least corrupt countries in the continent but recently in 2014, the opposition claimed that the government was guilty of misappropriating funds given for the development of infrastructure. However, due to economic and political stability, the country has been able to maintain a sustained effort against corruption and has achieved significant success.
