10 Least Adulterous Countries in The World

All the people with trust issues who fear infidelity can relax because we found 10 least adulterous countries in the world.

Have you ever been cheated by the person you love and felt really depressing? According to the statistics, the chances are that you have probably been because 30% to 60% of married men in the U.S. will cheat on their wives at some point during their marriage. This is a sad fact and one that is not very likely to change anytime soon.

As it turns out, monogamy is very difficult to achieve for many people. Of course, it’s not difficult for everyone, and a great number of people really commit to the person they’re with. But many consider that monogamy is simply not natural and should not be something a person strives to achieve. It is safe to assume that men are more likely to think that than women because as we all know, women have more romantic ideas of relationships which include being faithful.

We wrote about 10 countries with most faithful husbands in our previous article, and we talked about the problem that adultery represents and how it affects a person’s feelings as well as their behavior. Of course, not everyone considers infidelity to be such a huge problem and just because their partner cheated on them that does not mean they will end things with them. But to be fair, those people usually cheat too, or are simply too afraid to be alone and cannot terminate things so easily.

What makes people cheat anyway? Is it boredom? Is it because they cannot commit to being with one person only? I really wish there was a simple answer to this question, but I guess that a person rarely thinks about the consequences of their actions when it comes to cheating. They meet someone whom they start to like and feel comfortable around, and pretty soon things go too far. Based on the experiences of people I know who have cheated on their partners, the decision to cheat is usually not meant for the purpose of hurting the other person. Very often, they do it spontaneously without having any relationship problems whatsoever. All the social media makes it even easier to cheat, and there are also other kinds of cheating that don’t necessarily include having sex with someone else. Emotional infidelity is perhaps even worse, and it can cause so much more pain because it’s not just a one-time thing. It’s definitely worse the cheater falls in love with someone else while being with you, there’s no argument there. But the point of view on adultery varies from country to country. In some societies, it’s perfectly acceptable to cheat with a prostitute, and it’s not even considered cheating while in others it’s a pretty big deal. It’s interesting that a lot of people don’t consider kissing with someone else to be cheating too, so it is not very easy to define these things.

So are people capable of being faithful at all? They certainly are, and we must believe that otherwise, it’s going to be pretty tough maintaining a relationship. Not everyone cheats, and we need to learn to accept that and trust people. Being suspicious all the time is impossible. It will drive you crazy eventually, and you can destroy the relationship before he or she even thought about cheating. So the best thing to do is try to relax and read our list.

We wanted to find least cheating country in the world so that we can give you some kind of hope. As we have already said, not all countries regard infidelity the same way, and while some may think it’s not the worst thing in the world, others pay a high price for it. Countries in the Middle East are known to be the strictest when it comes to cheating where, according to the Sharia law, a man or woman who committed adultery is punished by death. It doesn’t mean that adultery doesn’t happen in these countries, it’s just that no one would admit doing it. On the other hand, we have countries that don’t have any problems with cheating, and they do it on a regular basis. Examples of such countries are Nigeria and Colombia, where it looks like it’s very difficult to maintain monogamy. According to a survey, 62% of women in Nigeria admitted being unfaithful to their husbands, and what’s interesting, in this country people even prefer the term “sexual networking” rather than cheating. Yes, we were surprised too. So according to this, maybe Nigeria wouldn’t actually be the best country to marry a woman (we’re joking, of course). The French did badly too, with only 47% of people thinking that cheating is wrong.

But according to a book “ Lust in Translation,“ people around the world actually care about cheating and consider it to be unacceptable. Well, at least a great part of them. As I have pointed out earlier, we must keep an open mind when it comes to any official data regarding cheating. We read various articles and discussions on the topic, and we relied on The Journal’s chart to compile a list of least adulterous countries in the world.

10. Germany

According to the statistics, it turns out that Germany is the country with the lowest infidelity, and the Germans do care about being honest and faithful in a relationship. 60% of Germans find infidelity to be unacceptable which makes it least adulterous country, and while of course we may say one thing and do another, these numbers still give us hope.

9. Japan

We are continuing our list of least adulterous countries in the world with Japan that comes right after Germany with the same results. A decent 60% of people in Japan believe infidelity is not OK, unlike some countries (which didn’t make it on our list) that don’t really think it’s a big deal. It looks like the Japanese are quite faithful to their partners if we’re to believe the results of the survey.

8. Italy

We think of Italians as great lovers, just like the French, but are they really so promiscuous and unfaithful? Unlike their French neighbors, the Italians did manage to get on the list ofleast adulterous countries in the world. According to the study, 64% of Italians think cheating is unacceptable in a relationship or marriage which places them higher on the list than Germany or Japan.

7. Russia

While we may think that Russians are not so faithful in a relationship, the results of the survey do not support that opinion 100%. A decent 69% of Russians think that cheating is unacceptable, which places then even higher than Italians. An interesting fact that we encountered is that there are 10% fewer men in Russia than women, so women often engage in relationships with married men out of necessity. However, the results of the survey show that the situation is not that bad for all the romantics who seek a loyal partner.

6. China

Although we found some very negative comments when it comes to being faithful in China, the survey really surprised us. China managed to rank 6th on our list of least adulterous countries in the world with a whopping 74% of people who find infidelity to be unacceptable. There is no way to be absolutely certain that a person who thinks cheating is immoral will not cheat on you, but the numbers give us hope that it’s still possible to find a faithful partner who will be honest and loyal.

3. Australia

While the British scored pretty high on the list of least adulterous countries in the world, the Australians ranked even higher, with 79% of Australians who think cheating is not acceptable. According to the survey, if you have an Australian boyfriend or girlfriend, it looks like you’re safe with pretty high possibilities you won’t be cheated on.

2. United States

It looks like people in the United States generally disapprove of cheating. According to the survey, 84% of people in the U.S. think infidelity is unacceptable, and so they ranked almost first on our list. Of course, one must not take these numbers as an absolute fact as what we say and what we do can differ greatly, but at least it gives us hope that it’s possible to find a faithful partner.

1. Turkey

The country that ranked the highest on our list of 10 least adulterous countries in the world is Turkey. According to the survey, 94% of people in Turkey find cheating to be immoral and unacceptable. If the numbers are correct, it means that Turkish people are very loyal and faithful in a relationship.
