Vietnam exported $101.9 billion of goods and products to the U.S. in 2021 and imported only a mere $11 billion – for a wide trade surplus. Key imports were electrical machinery and cotton, while machinery also dominated the exports.

Canada is another North American country with a land border with America. It was the U.S.’ largest export market in 2021, as it imported $307.8 billion of products. The bulk of these was represented by vehicles and machinery. Canada also sells mineral fuels and vehicles to the U.S.
