Asians make up a large population of the country and it includes Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Indians, among other populations. While Asians generally migrated to the country in the 18th century, the laws were made so strict in the 1800s and early 1900s that few were eligible for immigration. When the laws were relaxed in the 1950s, the Asian population again started moving to the country and is now the fastest growing national or ethnic population in the US.
