Go down under, and you will be earning $78,104 a year (yes, American dollars, not Australian). Australia is the absolute champion when it comes to the highest paying countries for chefs. Aussies are famous for their barbecue (Pavlova dessert is ruled out to belong to NZ. Sorry, Aussies, the BBC News says so), but eating out is a huge part of the culture and what is more they are willing to pay a good price for it. Actually, it’s the highest price in the world. What is more, Melbourne has been voted the most liveable city for the sixth year in a row by the Economist. So, if you are keen on drinking eggnog on the beach, this is definitely the place to go!
