10 Hardest Beauty Pageant Questions and Answers

Understanding what the hardest beauty pageant questions and answers are is pretty easy when you have watched “Miss Congeniality” one hundred times on cable –as has yours truly. It is true that no speech will ever knock it out of the park as Gracie Lou Freebush’s, but some of these gals actually give her a run for her money. In fact, some of the questions I couldn’t answer myself, so if you think you are oh-so-clever, you might be in for a big surprise.

First and foremost, as you might see in our list of 12 Pageant Questions and Answers About Education, questions are not aleatory. There are categories, and contestants should be savvy in each and every one of them, if they don’t want to look like beautiful airheads.

Here, Pageant Answers provides us with the categories questions are usually divided into. It also gives pretty good examples, so I’ll hand those out, along with some personal comments:

– Important Fields: What is the biggest problem of our educational system?

Beauty Pageants might not be the biggest, but they aren’t helping either

– Awareness Questions: How does our OFW’s contribute to our economy?

I hope OFW stands for “Oh, Fuck, What???” because I’m clueless on what that is

– Role and Responsibility: In your own way, how can you help in our government’s programs?

Maybe stay out of it?

– Social Issues: What is wrong about abortion?

BIAS MUCH?

– Situation-based Questions: What if you are a hermaphrodite?

Dude, wtf.

– Science-related Questions: Who among scientists do you consider the best?

I think as long you don’t answer “Josef Mengele”, you’re safe.

– Definition of Words: What do you think about fracking?

I think this question is fracking evil.

Personally, I find it unfair that some queries are based on knowledge, while others are about opinion, but the world of pageants is not exactly “the fairest of them all”. In fact, given that the Universe is as wide, vast, and infinite as it can get, the contest sounds pretty rigged to me. I mean, out of all the galaxies, planets and stars –even those unknown to us- Earth has won EVERY YEAR. Either the contest is fixed, or women throughout the whole universe are ugly af.

Furthermore, let’s not forget USA president Donald Duck, used to own the Miss Universe Organization. Here’s a picture of him with 2002 Russian winner, Oxana Fedorova. For the king of capitalism, he sure likes his women soviet.

Now, usually I would make up both the questions and the answers, but this subject is such a rich well of ridiculousness, embarrassment and sometimes even absolute brilliancy, there was no need to tamper with the data. I will provide you with real questions, real answers, and just add my comments on the side, so that I can still feel smart and funny. Now, let’s see our list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers. So, please click next and be amazed by these demonstrations of… something!

10. Allyn Rose, USA – Miss District of Columbia 2012/Miss Maryland 2011

Allyn Rose did a good job when she gave her answer for one of the hardest beauty pageant questions:

Question: “Bullying is a hot topic. Have you ever bullied someone?”

Answer: “If I’m being honest, there have been times in my life where I’ve said things to others that have hurt their feelings. I think we can all say we’ve experienced that, especially as young children who are still learning how we should treat others. I’m not proud of those moments, but they have happened.”

Follow up: “So, you’re saying someone who is a bully should be Miss America?”

Answer: “I’m saying that it would be disingenuous for me to say that I’ve never said something that hurt someone’s feelings. And, in my opinion, a Miss America is someone who is capable of acknowledging and admitting her mistakes, as well as moving past them.”

First and foremost, that follow-up question sounds a lot like bullying.

Secondly, of course she didn’t make Miss USA, because she told it like it is. Imagine if she had answered by saying “No, beautiful women have never been known to look down on people for vane reasons or talk sh*t behind their backs or to their faces”. That would have been fun.

9. Lara Dutta, India – Miss Universe 2000

Question: “Right now there is a protest going on right outside here calling the Miss Universe Pageant disrespectful of women. Convince them they are wrong.”

Answer: “I think pageant like the Miss Universe pageant give us young women a platform to foray in the fields that we want to and forge ahead, be it entrepreneurship, be it the armed force, be it politics. It gives us a platform to voice our choices and opinions, and makes us strong, independent that we are today. “

Let’s give to her: pretty good answer for such a shitty question. She almost had me convinced. Of course you can’t go all “This is BS, I just want money and some fame that will fade away in no longer than a year”, but it’s no surprise she nailed it, since Dutta holds the highest interview round score (and any round) in the history of Miss Universe contest. No wonder, it’s on our list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers, right?

8. Dayana Mendoza, Venezuela – Miss Universe 2008

Question: “Which have it easier in life: men or women?”

“God made us to share and have differences, but big differences?  I don’t think so. The difference is that men think, they think that the faster way to go to a point is to go straight, and women know that the faster way to go to a point is go the curves and fix every curls”

First of all: GOD? I bet he’s all up in Heaven like “B*tch what? I created you to clean the kitchen and now y’all going off script!”

Secondly: Does she really think that? That it’s not waaay easier for men? In VENEZUELA? Where have you been at the last, I don’t know, all of history?

Now, the thing about getting to a point for each gender is –I think- DEAD ON, but it doesn’t answer the question that ranks 8th on our list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers.

7. Camille Sims, USA – Miss New York 2017

Question: “Donald J. Trump. What do you think of him?”

(laughs) “I think that he’s a bright reminder of how our country needs to come together. If you don’t agree with his message, then it’s time to decide where you stand in this debate. As Americans, we need to make sure that we come together, represent what it means to be American — which is celebrating all people from all backgrounds whether you’re an immigrant, or a Native American, or an African American, or an Asian American.”

Jeez, put some Vaseline on that question, won’t you?

Even though she swam through that puddle of mud as gracefully as possible, she did not answer the question that ranks 7th on our list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers. We can’t really blame her, though, can we? Like, “What do you think of the former owner of this Pageant and current owner of the world? GO”. The answer is appropriate: deflect, deflect, deflect.

6. Pia Wurtzbach, Philippines – Miss Universe 2015

Question: “Earlier this year there was a controversy in the Philippines about the United States re-opening a military base in your country. Do you think the US should have a military presence in your country?”

Answer: “I think that the United States and the Philippines haве always had a good relationship with each other. We were colonized by the Americans and we have their culture in our traditions even up to this day, and I think we are very welcoming with the Americans, and I don’t see any problem with that at all.”

Oh… No…

Did she not hear the part when they talk about a MILITARY BASE? She’s reacting like they said, “ the USA is reopening a free-love & friendship gardening club”. Does the fact that they once kicked your ass and colonized you make it ok for them to bring their army into your country… again? Don’t be such a kiss-ass and provide better answers to the 10 hardest beauty pageant questions! So, what else we have on this list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers?

5. Laura Lee Lewis, USA – Miss Mississippi 2016

Question: “Miss America 1989 Gretchen Carlson just accepted a $20 million settlement from Fox News for her sexual harassment suit against Roger Ailes. Fox paid, Ailes walked. What message does this send?”

Answer: “This sends a message that we have so much further to go with equality in the workforce. Women are just as equal as men in the workforce and I think — it’s 2016, guys. We’ve got to focus on this and have equality in the workforce. And when we start focusing on that, it’s going to be great.”

Ok, this whole thing is plagued with irony.

For one, the fact that someone named “Alies” is so obviously “The Enemy” is hilarious.

Secondly, am I the only one seeing the immediate contradiction between the first and second sentence? If the message is that we have a long way to go in workforce equality, it means that we are NOT “just as equal as men in the workforce” YET.

Another part of the message it sends is that 20 million dollars is a lot of money. I could buy myself a thousand new integrities -at the price I rate mine- with that much. I have very little self-worth and a taste for shoes.

The question number 5 on our list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers is great, I wish it’d had a better answer.

4. Rachel Wyatt, USA – Miss South Carolina 2017

Question: “The immigration debate rages on: Building a wall along the Mexico border, establishing sanctuary cities, deporting 11 million undocumented people. Do you believe our country has an immigration problem?”

Answer: “You know, we certainly do. And I myself am a quarter Japanese. My great-grandfather is an immigrant, and I think that America really is a nation built on immigrants and so this is an issue that we have to come to a resolution on and be welcoming to others to come into this nation of freedom.”

The tricky thing about this question among the other on our list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers is that it seems to be really hard due to the perimese, but it’s just confusing. They’re not asking what the problem is, or what she’d do to solve it, they’re just asking if there is, in fact, a problem. The answer is vague, but appropriate considering the question, and it really hits the spot when she says that America was built by immigrants.

3. Sushmita Sen, India – Miss Universe 1994

Question: What is the essence of being a woman?

Answer: “Just being a woman is God’s gift that all of us must appreciate. The origin of a child is a mother, and is a woman. She shows a man what sharing, caring, and loving is all about. That is the essence of a woman.”

1994 called, said it wants its sexism back.

It actually shocks me how offensive this answer is to everyone. Not only does it state that you have to be a mother to be “essentially” a woman (WRONG), but it also portraits men as invalids when it comes to sharing, caring and loving. It also –again- shoves God into the mix. The number three on our list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers is outdated, but I’ll admit, that is one tough question.

2. Monika Radulovic, Australia – Miss Universe 2015

Question: Australia is taking the first steps towards legalizing marijuana. Do you think that’s a good idea, and why?

Answer: “Now this topic has its positives and negatives and it’s quite debated. I believe that in certain circumstances legalizing marijuana does have definite benefits. It has been found to be really amazing in treating cancer and has really, really helped those very, very sick, so in that circumstance, I definitely do think yes, we should, but the government should definitely weigh both options.”

THANK YOU. Thank you for talking about health, medicine, and science, and not God and gateways to destruction. Also, does anyone know how much tickets to Australia are going for these days?

Now, let’s see the number one on our list of hardest beauty pageant questions and answers.

1. Olivia Jordan, USA – Miss USA 2015

Question: “Few issues in the United States are more polarizing than gun ownership. The argument really heats up after major tragic events such as San Bernardino and Sandy Hook. What’s your position on gun control?”

Answer: “Incredibly difficult issue. I think it’s incredibly important that all individuals have the right to protect themselves and feel safe, but I also think that sometimes we need to look at the safety of a whole more than our own personal safety. I think we need stronger regulation, specifically I think we need to pay attention.”

Indeed, it is a difficult issue, and that is why it’s n°1 in our hardest beauty pageant questions and answers list.

Just like in the previous case, the contestant gives an informed, delicately opinionated, smart answer: stronger regulation and paying attention. Come on, people! Make America safe again!
