Born in 1940, John Lennon is one of the most famous British singers and songwriters. He was the co-founder of the Beatles, a group that is considered to be one of the best ever. In 1980, as Lennon was returning to his New York apartment alongside Yoko Ono, he was shot in the back four times by Mark David Chapman.
