One of Coldplay’s most recognizable songs, every fan can identify the beginning of the song. While the riff is easy to learn, it is quite fast in the song, which makes it slightly harder to learn. I followed the advice given by Merriam Music in learning the song and first learnt to play it quite slowly before improving the speed.

9. Au Claire de la lune
The first entry on this list is an 18th century French folk song, which is famous for its simple melody. In fact, its popularity lies in it being one of the go to songs for beginners learning to play the piano. Even for someone with as limited experience as mine, I was able to master the song in a short while.

Alicia Key’s debut song in 2001, Fallin is a bit challenging to learn, however thanks to the repeating melody in the song, it doesn’t take long to get a grip on the song and perform it flawlessly.

The Beatles may have written some of the best songs in history, but what’s even better is that several of their top songs are actually really easy to learn, which includes Let it Be, which only needs us to repeat the chords C-G-Am-F, which is followed by C-G-F-C.

6. Shadowfall
Shadowfall is a more obscure song when compared to the ones it has followed, and it was suggested on Quora by a keyboardist in a rock band. While the song seems fairly hard to play, it’s actually deceptively easy and definitely one of the best songs to learn if you’re a beginner and want to impress someone with your playing skills.

5. All Of Me
This is one of my favorite songs at the moment, and I didn’t really need much encouragement to start playing it once I saw how easy it was to learn. The left hand only plays one note, while for the intro, we have chords consisting of two notes only, F-C and F-Db.

This is an absolutely beautiful song performed by Bruno Mars, and proves my belief that for many songs, playing just the piano is enough. If you’ve got a good voice, and can play this song on the piano, you’ll have ladies swooning over you immediately.

I first heard this song around a decade ago, and it has stuck with me ever since. An incredibly moving song, the piano (apart from the vocals) is undoubtedly the highlight of this song and the best part is that learning to play it doesn’t require much effort either.

This song was mentioned on multiple websites, and for good reason. It’s catchy and easy to learn, something you wouldn’t normally associate with a song which won ‘Song of the Year’ at the Grammys in 2014.
