8. The Isle of Wight
One of the older music festivals in the world, The Isle of Wight attracted unbelievably large crowd in 1970 (an estimated number is 600,000) that the British Parliament issued an “Isle of Wight Act” that prevented gatherings larger than 5,000 on the island. That led to the hiatus of the festival until 2002, when it was revived. Nowadays it is a respectable music festival with around 60,000 visitors each year.
