10 Easiest Liberal Arts Classes to Take

If you are looking to boost your GPA while getting a few fast credits, then check out our list of 10 easiest liberal arts classes to take below. These are easy college classes to raise GPA, easy college classes to take online and some fun college electives are even included.

What do we mean by liberal arts? Well, if you’re a liberal arts major, you already know, but if not, we’d be happy to provide an explanation. Liberal Arts simply means, in broad terms, an overview. It includes introductory and/or general courses in humanities, science, art and, math. But that description covers a lot.

Basically, we just strayed away from counting any classes that went too in-depth into any one subject, and we also discounted classes with obscure names such as “Applied Technical Statistics” or “Mechanics of Deformable Solids.” Liberal Arts are essentially the basics. It’s even been referred to as “high school classes all over again” by some, though of course, they’re more challenging. Students go to Liberal Arts colleges or aim for Liberal Arts degrees in order to study a wide variety of topics rather than one specific. Of course, the classes for a certain Liberal Arts degree may differ from campus to campus. If you’re really unsure about the definition of Liberal Arts, be sure to research the definition your own college subscribes to.

For our list, we consulted articles from educational sites like The Odyssey’s 10 Easy A Classes Everyone Should Take, Campus Explorer’s Easiest College Classes, Narcity’s  24 University Courses You Should Take to get Easy A’s This Semester, One Class’s 10 of the Easiest Classes at Georgetown University, and Society 19’s Easy Courses at the University of Guelph. Additionally, we found other lists of easy courses at specific universities, like Koofers’ Easiest Classes at Drexel University and Easiest Classes at the University of Houston.

Lastly, we consulted a few student inquiries on sites like Quora, Reddit, and even a Facebook group. Normally, we don’t consider sources like these to be accurate, but since we wanted to hear from the students about what classes were the easiest, we thought they could be trusted for this article. We consulted Yahoo Answer’s “Easiest Liberal Arts Classes?”, Quora’s “What is the easiest science course I can take to earn an easy A in college if I dislike science?”, and Facebook’s “Easy 100 level courses for a GPA booster?”. Each time a certain course was listed as easy, we simply gave it one point and formed our system from there.

But it’s important to keep in mind that what’s easy to some may not always be easy for others. What we like and are most skilled at will always come the easiest to us, and since that’s different for everyone, it’s extremely difficult to pin down a course that every single student would consider easy. There are also many other factors that contribute to an “easy” class, like the teacher of that class, the school, and whether it’s taught online or in person.

But even so, it is helpful to have a list of classes that are basically no-brainers to the majority of people. Even hard-working students can enjoy basic courses as a break from those that require hours of study each week. Plus, most degrees require at least a few liberal arts courses, so you might as well know what are considered easy courses to take in college.
