Despite the fact that some employers will ask for a certificate or training before you apply, most of them are pretty content with training you on the spot. We must warn you they’ll definitely do a background check, and sometimes you can be subject to drug testing. In case you’re guarding a casino or carrying arms, more training is compulsory. Your workplace can vary greatly, from working outdoors in all weather conditions, to working inside. Also, don’t get discouraged immediately if you’re a woman. Some companies need to have female workers due to gender balance, so there’s your chance. Security guards being bulky men is just one of many stereotypes.
