Up next is the United States of America. Before we say anything more, we’d like to say that the only reason the USA still ranks this high and hasn’t been penalized is that President Trump’s “Travel Ban” and anti-immigration policies have been blocked by the local courts and have not taken effect.
The United States has the highest number of immigrants in the entire world, namely over 46.6 million, which means over 14.5% of the country’s population wasn’t born there. Of course, historically, it makes sense, since the USA is, at its roots, a nation built by immigrants.
Ranking 9th on the Migrant Integration Policy Index, the US managed to get a score of 63, with its best marks being for its anti-discrimination policies, as well as for access to healthcare and the labor market.
