With 76% of girls married before their 18th birthday, Niger is the worst among the countries with the highest rates of child marriage in 2018. But what is more terrifying is the data on some regions of Niger, such as Diffa, where child marriage rates are as high as 89%. Recently, the president of Niger had proposed to raise marriage age to 18 from current 15, but the issue is still in process.
