India is also one of the countries where Black Death still exists, as, since 1994, there have been multiple outbreaks of plague reported in India. On August 26, 1944, the first human cases were reported in Maharashtra state, and they spread to Bombay which is about 300km away. Cases of plague were reported in south-central, southwestern, and northern India.
