The Democratic Republic of Congo seems to be the country where the Black Death keeps returning very often. This country has reported more than 10,000 cases of plague from 2000 and 2009, and plague still represents a possibility and a justified fear in this country. According to the WHO, Ituri district in The Democratic Republic of Congo is the most active focus of human plague worldwide.
